Q :Sleipnir run when I click a link which is in the other software.
A :Please turn off the "Set as the default browser" button which is in Menu; "Tool --> Sleipnir Option --> General".
Q :Sleipnir doesn't work when I click a link which is in the other software.
A :Even if Sleipnir is set as the default browser, there is a scene where the other software runs. This is set by the software which you use.
A :In some cases, Sleipnir fail to process of run/close.
Then, Sleipnir may not run.
Kill Sleipnir process from Windows Task Manager as tentatively answer.
A :In some cases, Sleipnir has problem at running/closing.
There is a possibility if you update all plug-in to latest version, it may make improvement.
Make sure your installed plug-ins are latest version.
You can check them at "Tool --> Change Design --> Plug-in" at Menu bar.
Turn on "Show preinstalled plug-ins" button and check update.
ns are not latest version, click update button.
After restarting Sleipnir, all of your plug-in is latest version.
A :In some cases, Sleipnir can't run because of the page you shown before.
Run Sleipnir without restoring previous page.
Installer version
- Run Sleipnir from "All Programs -->Fenrir & Co -->Sleipnir --> Maintenance--> Sleipnir (run without a new session)" at Windows Start Menu.
Archive Version (ZIP)
- Delete LastSession.ffg at
- Click "Run..." from Windows Start Menu. And type
- If you turn on "restore last session at startup" button at "Tools --> Sleipnir option --> Client --> Boot", Run Sleipnir with keep pushing Ctrl key.
A :If you did either these action, windows show error message "Could not load plug-in" and doesn't work in rare case.
Uninstall Sleipnir once, and reinstall again. Almost all problems will be solved via this action.
*All settings become initial conditions, so you should tale a back up before this action.
If you don't want to uninstall and install again, here is the way to get behind this problem.
From Windows Start menu, choose
"All Programs --> Fenrir & Co. --> Sleipnir --> Maintenance --> Sleipnir (run without extensions)"
You can cancel out the plug-in which you think it's a problem in Menu bar
"Tool --> Change design --> Plug-in", to get behind this problem.
If you use archive version of Sleipnir, run from Windows Start menu and type "(The folder's address where you unpack Archive version of Sleipnir)\bin\Sleipnir.exe" -safe-mode" and hit enter.
Moreover, If you turn out which Plug-in is the problem, please uninstall the Plug-in and install the Plug-in again. Then, Sleipnir and Plug-in will work normally.
Q : Sleipnir will be No response when I run it.
A : First, Please run with pushing the Ctrl Key.
Then Sleipnir run without restoring last closed session.
If Sleipnir run with restoring last closed session, even if you already done previous operation, please delete the file which is LastSession.ffg in
Q :When I run Sleipnir, its condition is different than last closed session.
A :When the Sleipnir run, Sleipnir shows:
1. Last closed session
2. Startup folder in Favorite Group.
Whether showing the last closed session or not is determined by the option in the menu bar:
"Tool --> Sleipnir option --> Client --> boot". If you do not want to show last closed session at startup, make sure you turned off the button: "Restore last session at startup."
If you want to edit your startup folder in the Favorite Group, you can edit at menu bar:"Group --> Edit Favorite group"
A :Sleipnir could not create browser instance.
Please run 'addons/install_gecko.bat' to use gecko Engine. Or, make sure you set browser plug-in correctly.
If you couldn't run Sleipnir, please delete the file
(The folder you unpacked Sleipnir)\setting\user name\ setttin\user.ini and restart Sleipnir.
(In this operation, you reset some setting.)
We know this problem will occur when you choose Gecko as default browser engine without installing Gecko Plug-in.
Q :Although I set Sleipnir as the default browser, I cannot run Sleipnir and Windows shows error.
A :First, please turn off the "set as the default Browser" button, and turn on same button again.
A likely explanation is that setting file of default browser is broken.
Q :How to edit the Startup URL.
A :1. Open the Favorite in the Explorer bar.
2. At the bottommost Favorite group, right click and open the menu.
3. Choose "Edit favorite group"
4. At this point, you can edit the Favorite group. You can edit the startup group.
