Install & Uninstall
A :If you are still running Sleipnir, you can' do that. You have to close Sleipnir and Install update again. After that, please restart your PC.
A :Installer Version:
1.Start --> Control Panel --> Add or Remove Programs --> Sleipnir Version 2.XX --> Remove or change setting
Archives Version:(ZIP)
1. You can delete the folder which you unpack [portable-sleipnir-XXX]
*Caution
- If you set Sleipnir as a default Web browser, please change it before uninstalling
- If you use Installer Version with Gecko, please run above program.
(1)WindowsXP Explorer --> Program Files --> Fenrir & Co --> Sleipnir --> add-ons --> uninstall_gecko.bat
(2)Windows Me Explorer --> Program Files --> Fenrir & Co --> Sleipnir --> add-ons --> uninstall_gecko_WindowsMe.bat
- If you use RoboForm (Software to manage your password), Start --> Control Panel --> Add or Remove programs --> RoboForm Remove or change setting.
Q :Can't install Adobe Flash Player.
A :At the default setting, Sleipnir do not allow to download the ActiveX control because of the security reason.
You can install ActiveX via following procedures.
[Change security setting and install]
1.Open the webpage which try to install ActiveX.
2.Right click on the quick security and turn on allow download ActiveX.
3.Click the information bar and select Install ActiveX control.
We recommend you should turn off "Allow download ActiveX" after installing because of the security reason.
[Install from Internet Explorer]
1.Open the webpage which try to install ActiveX.
2.Click the icon on the address bar to run Internet Explorer.
3.Install ActiveX control via Internet Explorer.
Q :When I uninstall Sleipnir, the other browser can't be set as default browser.
A : If you uninstall Sleipnir 2.XX which set as a default browser, you can not set the other browser as a default browser. Please do above resetting.
1. Reinstall Sleipnir 2.XX
2. At the Menu Bar "Sleipnir Option / Client / General", turn off "set as the default browser" button.
*If the standard browser setting is not active, set Sleipnir as the default browser and restart Sleipnir, and turn off the previous button again.
3. Close Sleipnir 2.XX
4. Set IE or the other web browser as the default web browser.
5. Uninstall Sleipnir 2.XX again.
Q :When I install installer version of Sleipnir, windows shows the "Error 5".
A :"Error 5" is the write failure. Please close both Sleipnir and Sleipnir Speed Launcher when you overwrite update installer version of Sleipnir. Moreover, if you set close button as a "put Sleipnir in the task tray", please close Sleipnir completely.
Q :What is the difference between Installer version of Sleipnir and Archive version of Sleipnir?
A :Installer version of Sleipnir downloads necessary files from our Server, install where you set down, and make a shortcut of Sleipnir 2.XX at the Start menu. A
Installer version of Sleipnir is smaller than Archive version, because it downloads necessary files automatically.
Moreover it is easy to install.
However, we know some troubles there, which will sometimes happen when updating Sleipnir.
Archive Version of Sleipnir has all files. You can unpack Sleipnir wherever you want to and use it.
We push Archive Version of Sleipnir for Advanced User who wants to do whole setting on one's own.
Both have same function in terms of results. So, you can choose which you would like to.
A :We already got some information about the confliction between SmartInstaller and some Security software.
We go over how do we avoid though, there is a possibility that if you stop working your security software, installation will be success.
However if you plan to change the settings of Security Software, please be careful and act with self-responsibility.
